The token is the central element of Pokémon Battrio: an illustrated disc that represents a Pokémon. Here is how to read one, based on Poképédia.
What a token shows
| Element | Role |
|---|---|
| Number | The series, then the token (for example 09-001); a star replaces the number on secret tokens. It has nothing to do with the Pokédex number. |
| Type | The Pokémon’s type, as in the games; there are two special types for Arceus (“11 Plates” and “full Plate”). |
| Awakening | A bonus qualifier, in three series from 2010 (“Vigor”, “Fury”, “Prayer”…). |
| Artwork | The Pokémon, sometimes shiny or holographic. |
| HP | Added to the team’s life bar; not necessarily multiples of ten. |
| Attack, Defense, Speed | Red and blue dots and arrows, from 1 to 9; Speed only appears since the Arceus Advent Chapter. |
| Pokémon’s attack | Its single attack, then two profiles to choose from in the latest series. |
| Special ability / Extra | A bonus for the team. |
| Rarity | First the token’s border, in the colors of a Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball or Master Ball (special Balls for secret tokens), then one to three stars. |
Completing your collection
The cabinet gives you a new token after every match. For the rest, you buy tokens individually, like trading card boosters, or trade with other players. In October 2011, a limited offer even paired the Kyurem and Volcarona tokens with figurines on stands.
