Released on November 8, 2012 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop at 14.99 euros, the Pokédex 3D Pro succeeds the free Pokédex 3D. Developed by Creatures, it collects the entries of all 649 Pokémon from the first five generations, in 3D, with their Formes, moves and a quiz mode. A polished encyclopedia that has become a nice collector’s item.
A complete encyclopedia
Where the Pokédex 3D only covered the fifth generation, the Pro version collects every Pokémon known in 2012, up to Genesect, Formes included: the 28 Unown, the Formes of Castform, Deoxys, Shaymin, Giratina, the sixteen types of Arceus, Black and White Kyurem… Each entry gives the height, weight, types, base stats, Egg Group, Abilities, description, evolutions, weakness chart and the full list of moves, with the cry and the name’s pronunciation.
3D at the service of the Pokédex
Each Pokémon can be viewed from every angle, in stereoscopic 3D, and performs its moves. With AR Markers, augmented reality makes it appear in front of you, ready to be photographed. You can also compare Pokémon by height, weight or stats, and browse a dictionary of all moves. See the features.
The Pokémon Challenge
Thirty-five quizzes put your knowledge to the test: silhouettes, cries, evolutions, matchups, Unown… They unlock one by one, up to the one-hundred-question perfect run. A good way to become a true expert. See the Pokémon Challenge.
Dated, and no longer on sale
The Pokédex 3D Pro stops at the fifth generation: it was never updated for Kalos. Purchases on the 3DS eShop have been closed since March 2023. For an up-to-date Pokédex, you are better off checking our Pokédex today.
Our verdict
A polished, complete Pokémon encyclopedia for its time, with an enjoyable quiz mode, but frozen in Unova.
