Sync Pairs are the heart of Pokémon Masters EX. You receive some during the story, but most are obtained through Pair Scout. Here is how recruitment works, based on Poképédia.
Pair Scout
Each scout gives you a random Sync Pair. A new Sync Pair joins your collection; one you already own improves its Sync Move, up to level 5; beyond that, you receive a Pair Scout ticket. Scouts are paid for with gems, earned by playing or purchased.
- Featured Sync Pairs: each week, a banner highlights certain 5★ Sync Pairs, with a better chance of getting them; Festival and Seasonal banners offer rare Sync Pairs.
- Pair Scout points: each scout earns some; at 400 points, you can pick the Sync Pair of your choice on the banner. They are lost when the banner ends.
- Daily Pair Scout: free, once a day; since September 1st, 2024, it gives one Sync Pair per day.
- Pair Scout with Vouchers: since September 2020, 30 vouchers guarantee a random 5★ Sync Pair.
Levelling up a Sync Pair
- Level, through battles and in Bonus Areas, with caps that can be raised using items.
- Potential, in stars, which can be raised up to 6★ EX.
- Passive Skills, up to three per Sync Pair, which are active automatically.
- Sync Move, strengthened by receiving the same Sync Pair again.
- Ultimate Look: some Trainers change outfit and partner Pokémon.
