The Battle Pass and the shop are the two sources of cards in Pokémon TCG Live. Here is how they work, according to Poképédia.
The Battle Pass
Daily quests advance the pass, which unlocks rewards: cards, booster packs, decks, accessories. Each pass lasts from one expansion to the next. There used to be a free basic pass and a Premium pass paid for in gems; since Surging Sparks, there is only one pass per expansion, open to everyone.
The shop
It sells theme decks and booster packs in exchange for Trainer Points, from the Sun & Moon series to the most recent one. Individual cards are bought with Credits, in the deck editor.
The profile
You customize your 3D avatar (face, hair, colors, mounts, hats), check your stats (wins, losses, streaks) and manage your friends.
