Terrains and their boosters:
Boosters let you run at Pikachu’s top speed on foot, that is to say 100% (a higher speed can be reached with the balloons, close to 701%), on any terrain.
Some terrains are nevertheless fast to cross without any booster, such as roads of every kind.
This little table tells you, for each terrain, which booster to use, how many balloons you can pop before landing on that terrain, and what top speed you can reach when you don’t use a booster.
Terrain | Booster | Balloons to pop | Top speed without booster |
Roads | – | No balloons | 100% (+10% hidden) |
Grass | 2 balloons | 76% | |
Forests | Avoid landing | 53%

Swamps | 2 balloons | 29% for 3 seconds
