To fill the Pokédex in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, you need to master three modes: Catch, Evolution and Egg. Here is how to trigger each one and how to succeed.

Catch ‘Em Mode

  1. An arrow lights up each time the ball passes the top of the right loop.
  2. With at least two arrows, send the ball into Sharpedo (Ruby) or Wailmer (Sapphire). With three arrows, more Pokémon become possible.
  3. The central screen shows a silhouette: hit the bumpers (Chinchou, Lotad or Shroomish) three times to reveal the Pokémon.
  4. Hit it three times with the ball to catch it. You have two minutes in total.

Evolution Mode

  1. An arrow lights up each time the ball passes the top of the left loop.
  2. With three arrows, the shop entrance turns into an Evolution entrance, provided you have at least one Pokémon that can evolve. Go in.
  3. Choose the Pokémon. For two minutes, three evolution items appear one after another: collect them all.
  4. The central hole opens: send the ball into it to evolve the Pokémon.

Hatch Mode

On Ruby, hit Cyndaquil four times; on Sapphire, go through the lane next to Wailmer four times. The baby Pokémon then wanders around the field: hit it twice within about thirty seconds to catch it.
