Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire offers two sources of bonuses: Slot Mode, a slot machine triggered during play, and the shop, where you spend the coins you have collected. Here is how they work.
Slot Mode
To start the Slot, light up the four round pads at the top of each lane by rolling over their little white lines. The Slot can give you:
- a Ball Saver lasting 30, 60 or 90 seconds;
- 10, 30 or 50 coins;
- the Pika Saver from Pichu, which stops the ball from falling down the sides;
- big point bonuses of 1 to 9 million, or small bonuses of 100 to 900 points;
- an instant Catch ‘Em Mode or Evolution Mode;
- an extra ball;
- a bonus stage;
- in the Ruins area, the appearance of Jirachi: touch it three times within 30 seconds to catch it.
Earning coins
Send the ball through the lane marked with arrows, green on Ruby and blue on Sapphire: the number displayed shows how many coins you earn.
Opening the shop
- Ruby: aim for the lane to the right of the bumpers, hit the door to open it, then go in.
- Sapphire: unlock the lightning bolts of Plusle and Minun by hitting the small + and − signs under these two Pokémon.
