Pokémon Battle Trozei can also be played with several people, locally, and exchanges data via StreetPass. Here is how these modes work.
Local multiplayer
Two to four players can team up, each with their own 3DS and copy of the game; the game is not region-locked, so versions from all regions can play together. One player selects “Form a Team” and the others join. Everyone chooses their own allies, and the team leader chooses the stage, from among all those in the game, with no restrictions.
Each player has their own grid, but everyone faces the same wild Pokémon. The other players’ combos are shown on the top screen, and all attacks count. The Pokémon is caught by everyone, and scores are added together, with a ranking based on each player’s contribution. The more players there are, the more manageable the difficult stages become.
StreetPass
StreetPass exchanges records, rankings and progress with the players you pass by. You can also pick a favorite Pokémon from among your catches: it is added to the list of players you meet.
