The Sky High Pokémon is taking flight again. On November 6, 2026, the Pokémon TCG will welcome Mega Evolution – Delta Reign, an expansion led by
Mega Rayquaza-ex. It’s the first time Mega Rayquaza has returned to the card game since the XY – Ancient Origins expansion, released more than ten years ago. Prerelease tournaments begin as early as October 24: here’s what you need to know before opening your first boosters.
Four Mega Evolution ex headliners
Mega Rayquaza-ex doesn’t arrive alone. It is joined by three other Mega Evolution Pokémon-ex:
Mega Golurk-ex,
Mega Malamar-ex and
Mega Golisopod-ex. The official French visuals already give a good idea of their play style:
- Mega Rayquaza-ex (Basic Pokémon, 280 HP): when you play it from your hand onto your Bench, its Ability Ruler’s Roar lets you look at the top 4 cards of your deck and attach a basic Energy card from among them to it. Its attack Storm Emerald does 50 damage for each Fire and Lightning Energy attached to all of your Pokémon.
- Mega Golurk-ex (350 HP): Goliath’s Punch hits for 300 damage, but the Ability Restricted Activation requires you to have at least 10 cards in hand to attack.
- Mega Malamar-ex (320 HP): Psychic Marionette does 70 damage for each Pokémon on your opponent’s Bench, and Eerie Wave (200 damage) makes your opponent’s Active Pokémon Confused.
- Mega Golisopod-ex: Finishing Blow goes from 60 to 220 damage if your opponent’s Active Pokémon already has a damage counter on it, and Quadruple Hold (160 damage) prevents it from retreating during their next turn.
Like all Mega Evolution ex cards, these cards give your opponent three Prize cards when they are Knocked Out: power comes at a high price.
Legendary Stadiums, the expansion’s new feature
The other big new feature is called the Legendary Stadium. The idea: two different Stadium cards, which cannot be played on their own, combine and are placed side by side. They then count as a single Stadium card and form one large panoramic illustration. The expansion has six of them, making three Legendary Stadiums. Good news for collectors: a booster that contains a Legendary Stadium holds both of the necessary halves.

Since the announcement, more cards have been revealed, including
Heat Rotom-ex,
Groudon,
Kommo-o and
Delibird. According to The Pokémon Company, the expansion includes:
- 4 Mega Evolution Pokémon-ex
- 6 Pokémon-ex
- 6 Stadium cards forming 3 Legendary Stadiums
- 14 “Illustration Rare” Pokémon
- 17 “Ultra Rare” Pokémon and Trainer cards
- 6 “Special Illustration Rare” Pokémon and Supporter cards
