In Pokémon Rumble Rush, the power of Pokémon depended on gears. You got them by refining ores found by defeating bosses. Here is how this system worked.
Gears
- Power gears increased a Pokémon’s CP, often for a given move type. They could be upgraded with coins.
- Summon Gears let you summon a Pokémon during battle. Some, super rare, were tied to events, such as Night Daze for Zoroark or X-Scissor for Pinsir.
- Gears remained usable from one island to the next, unlike Pokémon.
Ores
Defeating a stage’s boss sometimes yielded an ore. Each stage had a Pokémon and therefore a dominant type: its ores mostly gave gears of that type, which let you target the gears you wanted.
| Ore | Refining time | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Ore | 30 minutes | 0 to 1 Summon Gear, 1 to 2 power gears, 500 coins |
| Uncommon Ore | 3 hours | 1 Summon Gear, 24 power gears, 2,500 coins |
| Rare Ore | 10 hours | 4 Summon Gears, 90 power gears |
You could only refine one ore at a time, unless you bought a second slot. Poké Diamonds let you finish refining immediately. Since update 1.2.0 in July 2019, the factory could store six ores instead of three, and gears had been rebalanced.
