Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 give legendary Pokémon a large role: the Tao Trio, Kyurem and its new forms, but also many legendary Pokémon from previous generations, from the Hoenn Regis to the Sinnoh Lake Guardians. This page sums up where and how to get them.
The Tao Trio and Kyurem
| Pokémon | Location | Level | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zekrom (Black 2) Reshiram (White 2) | Top of Dragonspiral Tower | 70 | After the League, once you have received the Dark Stone or Light Stone from N |
| Kyurem | Giant Chasm | 70 | After catching Zekrom or Reshiram |
During the story, Ghetsis uses Kyurem and makes it fuse with N’s dragon: this is the birth of Black Kyurem (Black 2) or White Kyurem (White 2), the games’ mascots. Once you have caught Kyurem and Zekrom or Reshiram, you can recreate this fusion yourself using the DNA Splicers. Black Kyurem has the exclusive move Freeze Shock, White Kyurem has Ice Burn. See Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem and Black Kyurem and White Kyurem.
The Regis
After the League, the Underground Ruins open at the end of Clay Tunnel. You must solve a puzzle there by following the statues’ clues to wake the Regis, all at level 65.
| Pokémon | Version | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Regirock | Both | Solve the room’s puzzle |
| Registeel | Black 2 | Iron Key, received after catching Regirock |
| Regice | White 2 | Iceberg Key, received after catching Regirock |
| Regigigas | Both | At the back of Twist Mountain, with the three Regis; level 68 |
The other version’s key is obtained through the Unova Link, with a player of the other version. See The Legendary Golems and Unova Link.
Legendary Pokémon from other regions
| Pokémon | Location | Level | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Latios (Black 2) Latias (White 2) | Dreamyard | 68 | It flees when you arrive: find it again in the tall grass |
| Heatran | Reversal Mountain | 68 | Have the Magma Stone, hidden on Route 18 |
| Cresselia | Marvelous Bridge | 68 | Have the Lunar Wing, found in the Strange House |
| Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf | In front of the Nacrene City museum; top of Celestial Tower; Route 23 | 65 | After the encounter in the Cave of Being (Route 20), which requires the National Pokédex |
The Swords of Justice
The three Musketeers appear during the adventure, at level 45. If you knock them out without catching them, they come back after the League, at level 65.
- Cobalion: glimpsed on Route 6, it waits in the middle of Route 13.
- Terrakion: asleep on Route 22; Colress lends you his machine to wake it.
- Virizion: in the middle of Route 11.
Keldeo, the fourth Musketeer, was only available through distribution. Its Resolute Forme is obtained when it knows Secret Sword. See Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion and Keldeo and its Resolute Forme.
The Forces of Nature and their Therian Formes
Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus receive a new form in Black 2 and White 2, the Therian Forme, with different stats and Abilities. See The Therian Formes of the Forces of Nature.
Tips
- Save before every legendary Pokémon: if you accidentally knock one out, just reload.
- Bring False Swipe and a move that puts to sleep or paralyzes, along with Timer Balls for long battles.
- For version exclusives, trade with a player of the other version or use the Unova Link.
