What’s new

  • 3D: Pokémon and environments are modeled in three dimensions, a first for the series in France.
  • Magnagates, dungeons opened by photographing round objects. See Magnagates and dungeons.
  • Pokémon Paradise, a place to build and develop. See Pokémon Paradise and Post Town.
  • Local multiplayer for up to four.
  • Free choice of starter Pokémon, with no personality quiz. See Starter Pokémon.
  • Shortcuts for the four moves (L with A, B, X or Y) and a link move that hits every enemy in the room while healing the team.
  • Outdoor floors, where Pokémon move in real time.
  • Simplifications: no more IQ or Abilities, replaced by shared team skills, and no more hunger in some dungeons.

Development

The game was revealed in September 2012 under the working title “Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth”, translated from the Japanese, before its European title was announced in February 2013. A demo was offered on the European eShop in April 2013. We followed every announcement: see The game on Pokémon France.
