Starting Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity? Here are the basics for surviving dungeons and growing your Pokémon Paradise, whether or not you are new to the series.
Dungeon rules
- Turn-based play: every action, whether a step, an attack or using an item, advances time by one turn, and enemies act in turn.
- Floors are randomly generated; you have to find the stairs to go down to the next one.
- Fainting: if your hero faints, the exploration fails and you lose some of your items; a Reviver Seed lets you get back up.
- Outdoor areas in some dungeons are explored in real time: Pokémon move around freely there.
Useful controls
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Use a move | Hold L and press A, B, X or Y |
| Link move | A powerful move that hits every enemy in the room and heals the team |
