Halloween will end by the glow of spectral flames in Pokémon GO. Promised since the launch of the Twilight Trails season, the Mega Evolution of
Chandelure finally has a date: it will debut on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (local time), during a Super Mega Raid Day. On the agenda: Super Max Level, a boosted attack, a Global Challenge and a paid ticket for the most dedicated.
Mega Chandelure arrives in Super Mega Raids
For three hours, Mega Chandelure will take over Super Mega Raids, which only appear at certain Gyms. The in-game map and the Events page show the possible locations in advance, as well as meetups organized near you by community Ambassadors. For Trainers who don’t yet have a well-trained
Litwick or
Lampent, this is the ideal chance to get your hands on the final evolution of the line.
- Shiny Chandelure: the chances of encountering it are increased in Super Mega Raids.
- Mega Level 1 for free: every Chandelure caught in a Super Mega Raid starts directly at the first Mega Level.
- Up to 6 free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs.
- Remote Raids: limit raised to 20, from Saturday, October 31 at 1 a.m. to Sunday, November 1 at 4 a.m. (Paris time).

Super Max Level and Ominous Wind+
Like Mega Sableye and Mega Greavard for the second part of Halloween, Mega Chandelure will be able to climb all the way to Super Max Level. You first need to reach Max Mega Level (the third tier), then keep accumulating Mega Energy, which can only be earned by taking part in Mega Raids: Mega Evolving alone is not enough.
Once this tier is reached, Chandelure learns an additional Charged Attack in its Mega Evolved form, Ominous Wind+:
- In Gyms and Raids: power of 145, which increases with Mega Level.
- In Trainer Battles: power of 50, with a chance to raise the user’s Attack and Defense by one stage.
To prepare your teams well, our guide to Raids and Mega Raids and our feature on all Mega Evolutions will give you the basics.
Global Challenge, Special Research and a $4.99 ticket
A Global Challenge accompanies the event, from Saturday, October 31 at 1 a.m. to Sunday, November 1 at 4 a.m. (Paris time). The more Raids Trainers around the world complete, the more tiers they unlock, and the bigger the bonuses will be from Monday, November 2 at 9 p.m. to Sunday, November 15 at 9 p.m. (Paris time):
- increased base power of Ominous Wind+ for Mega Chandelure from the first Mega Level (excluding GO Battle League);
- extra CP for Mega Chandelure at Super Max Level.
A free Special Research will also be offered: its tasks reward a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with
Tyranitar. Remember to claim the rewards before it expires.
Finally, a $4.99 event ticket (or the equivalent in euros) will be sold in the in-game shop until October 31 at 5 p.m. It cannot be bought with PokéCoins, but it can be gifted to a friend at Great Friends level or higher. Its bonuses, valid during the event:
- up to 14 Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs;
- better chances of getting Super XL Candy in Raids;
- an extra 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust per Super Mega Raid.
The Pokémon GO web store will also offer an Ultra Ticket Box at the same price, with a Premium Battle Pass included on top of the ticket.
Key takeaways
Join us on Saturday, October 31 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to catch Mega Chandelure in Super Mega Raids, with more frequent shinies and a free Mega Level 1. Super Max Level and Ominous Wind+ will make it a Ghost-type attacker to watch, especially as the Global Challenge can boost it even further until November 15. A great way to wrap up Halloween, right after the second part of the event.
