Autumn is arriving in Pokémon GO. On September 8, 2026 at 10 a.m. (local time), the Twilight Trails season takes over. It will last until December 1, 2026. Expect autumn colors, pumpkins and russet forests: here is what you need to know.
Maschiff and Mabosstiff arrive from Paldea
The season’s first debuts come from the Paldea region: Maschiff, the Rascal Pokémon, and its evolution Mabosstiff, the Boss Pokémon, arrive in Pokémon GO with the Mega Hordes event, which opens the season from September 8 to 14. Maschiff can be obtained from Eggs, through Field Research or the GO Pass, and it takes 50 Candy to evolve it into Mabosstiff. Niantic promises more Paldea Pokémon over the course of the season.

During Mega Hordes, Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom take over Mega Raids, and shiny Flamigo makes its debut.
Mega Staraptor, Mega Chandelure and the Super Max Level
After the Mega Finale of Pokémon GO Fest 2026, Mega Evolution remains at the heart of the season. Niantic announces new Mega-Evolved forms, including Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure, with others to follow. The dates of their debuts will be announced over the course of the season.

Another novelty: the Super Max Level opens up for the first time to Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom during Mega Hordes. Once this tier is reached, they unlock an additional Charged Attack in their Mega-Evolved form: Fell Stinger+ for Mega Beedrill and Dark Pulse+ for Mega Houndoom. A quick reminder: you must first reach Max Mega Level, then spend Mega Energy to move up to the next tier.
Mega Evolutions arrive in the GO Battle League
This is probably the biggest change of the season: Mega Evolutions are entering the GO Battle League, whose new season starts on September 8 at 1 p.m. PDT (10 p.m. Paris time). “Mega Edition” versions of the Great, Ultra and Master Leagues are on the schedule. Some eligible Mega-Evolved Pokémon also have a third Charged Attack, regardless of their Mega Level.

Niantic also announces that the CP of Mega-Evolved Pokémon will soon be automatically reduced for the duration of a battle so that they can take part in the Great and Ultra Leagues: Mega Edition. On the competitive side, Mega-Evolved Pokémon will be usable for the first time at the Pokémon Latin America International Championships.
Dynamax, Community Days and GO Pass
Max Battles are not forgotten, with the Dynamax forms of Rhyhorn, Sneasel and Sizzlipede. The lake guardians, Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf, will get their own Max Battle Day.
Three Community Days are on the schedule:
- September 12: the classics of September’s Community Day, with Gible;
- October 10: October’s Community Day;
- November 21: November’s Community Day.
Finally, the free GO Pass returns with its Tier bonuses: guaranteed XL Candy from trades (from level 31), increased Gift storage, doubled Adventure Incense duration, then increased XP and Stardust from hatching. The paid Deluxe GO Pass lets you progress faster.
For Pokémon GO’s tenth anniversary year, the season looks like a busy one. See you on the trails!
