📜Origins and Trivia

🔤
Name origin: Gardevoir’s name is the same in English as in French, where it blends “garde” (guard), “devoir” (duty) and “voir” (to see), a reference to its psychic powers. Its Japanese name, Sirnight, evokes a knight.
🩰
Inspiration: It recalls both a ballerina, with its long gown and legs like pointe shoes, and a protective knight: according to the Pokédex, it will do anything to defend its Trainer.
🧚
