The Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl walkthrough is published on Pokémon France in nine steps, from Twinleaf Town to the victory over Cynthia. This page is its index: each step is located and linked, with the Gym and the badge it covers. Since the remakes faithfully follow the course of Diamond and Pearl, our complete Diamond, Pearl and Platinum guide usefully complements each step, place by place.

The main steps in brief
From Twinleaf Town to Eterna City (steps 1 and 2)
The hero, Lucas or Dawn, sets off from Twinleaf Town with their childhood friend. Professor Rowan entrusts them with a starter Pokémon: Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup. After Jubilife City, where you receive the Pokétch, Roark awaits in Oreburgh City with his Rock Pokémon. The road then leads to Floaroma Town, where the Mythical Mew and Jirachi can be given to you later, then through Eterna Forest to Gardenia’s Grass Gym.
The heart of Sinnoh (steps 3 to 5)
In Eterna City, the Underground Man gives you the Explorer Kit: time to discover the Grand Underground and its hideaways. Team Galactic shows up more and more. The Gyms of Maylene in Veilstone City, Crasher Wake in Pastoria City and Fantina in Hearthome City follow one another, interspersed with clashes with Team Galactic’s commanders.
Heading north (steps 6 and 7)
Canalave City and its Steel Gym, then the snowy crossing to Snowpoint City and its Ice Gym. Meanwhile, Team Galactic goes after Sinnoh’s three lakes and their guardians.
Mt. Coronet (step 8)
Cyrus, leader of Team Galactic, tries to subdue Dialga or Palkia at Spear Pillar. The battle against him is followed by the encounter with the Legendary of your version, which can be captured. The last Gym, Volkner’s in Sunyshore City, opens the road to the League.
The Pokémon League (step 9)
After Victory Road, the Elite Four (Aaron, Bertha, Flint and Lucian) and then Champion Cynthia await you. Her Garchomp remains one of the most feared opponents in the series: prepare a team able to stand up to it, with Ice or Fairy attacks.
What next?
Finishing the League opens the Battle Zone, the National Pokédex, Ramanas Park and many Legendaries. It’s all gathered on our After the League page.
