Picrites are the currency of Pokémon Picross, and the P Gauge limits the number of squares you can fill in. Managing them well is the key to progressing without paying. Here is how to earn them, what they are used for and what the shop costs.
The P Gauge
Each square you fill in uses up one point of the P Gauge. At the start, it lets you fill in up to 200 squares. When it is empty, you cannot play; it recharges over time, or instantly for 10 Picrites. You can also expand it:
| Upgrade | Price |
|---|---|
| 200 P | 50 Picrites |
| 300 P | 100 Picrites |
| 400 P | 150 Picrites |
| Infinite gauge | 400 Picrites |
The murals and the daily training do not use up the P Gauge.
Earning Picrites without paying
- The tutorial: 30 Picrites per puzzle.
- Puzzle objectives: up to 5 Picrites per puzzle.
- Medals: 3 Picrites each, to be collected in the menu. See Medals.
- The daily training: up to 13 Picrites per day.
The daily training
Every day, Professor Tetra offers a training session of 7-by-7 puzzles. Whether or not you finish within the time limit, you earn Picrites, and more of them the further you progress through the areas:
| Area reached | Picrites |
|---|---|
| 1 to 4 | 4 |
| 5 to 8 | 5 |
| 9 to 12 | 6 |
| 13 to 16 | 7 |
| 17 to 20 | 8 |
| 21 to 24 | 9 |
| 25 to 30 | 10 |
Finishing in time earns a bonus of 0 to 3 Picrites depending on the training level reached. Two medals reward the training: reaching level 10, and completing it in under one minute thirty.
What Picrites are used for
- Unlocking each new area.
- Healing Pokémon whose ability has been used, except Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
- Recharging or expanding the P Gauge.
- Opening the alternate mode, for 300 Picrites, and buying the Mega Stylus, for 500. See Alternate mode.
