In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, side quests reward you with upgrades for your Capture Styler: they reduce the damage you take, lengthen the capture line or make it more powerful. There are 47 of them, all earned through quests. Here is what each one does and where to get it.
Type defenses
For each attack type, two upgrades reduce the damage the Capture Styler takes when hit by an attack of that type: the first removes 3 points of damage, and the second brings the reduction to 6. One last upgrade, Ultimate Defense, adds 1 point of reduction against every type. Be careful: what counts is the type of the attack, not the type of the Pokémon, which can use attacks of another type.
