Like the first game, Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia offers bonus missions through the Ranger Net. This time, they were downloaded through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, often for a limited time. Three extra missions pitted the player against legendary Pokémon, and three special missions let you send a Pokémon to Diamond, Pearl or Platinum. Here is their story.
The extra missions
Most of them require you to have finished the story and reached Ranger Rank 10. The Pokémon you capture stay in the game.
| Mission | Legendary Pokémon | Availability in Europe |
|---|---|---|
| Dialga in the Hia Valley!? | Dialga | From 12 January 2009 |
| Palkia in the Haruba Desert!? | Palkia | From 12 January 2009 |
| The Bride’s Shaymin! | Shaymin | 1 to 31 March 2009 |
- Dialga, wounded, has taken refuge in Almia Castle after using Roar of Time; a time rift carries off the hero and Raphaëlle.
- Palkia, also wounded, has hidden in the Hippowdon Temple and is causing spatial distortions; the hero sets off with Seth.
- Shaymin is a bride’s “bouquet”, coveted by Team Dim Sun, which escapes and hides among the flowers.
Our news: Shaymin mission in sight! and Shaymin available in Pokémon Ranger.
The special missions
Once completed, they let you send a Pokémon to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl or Platinum, once per Pokémon.
