The competitive scene of Pokémon Legends: Z-A is about to enter a crucial new stage. Ranked Battles Season 11, as announced by Pokémon.com, will run from Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 06:00 UTC to Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 01:59 UTC. This event gives Trainers the chance to face off in real time in four-player battles, aiming to climb from Rank Z to Rank A.
A strategic return of Mega Stones
The main appeal of this eleventh season is the return of Mega Stones among the rank rewards. These iconic items, essential for transforming certain Pokémon, are distributed on a specific progression from Rank Y to Rank S. The list includes Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite and Blazikenite.
Rules of engagement and team building
To keep battles fair, strict rules govern the selection of creatures. Players can use Pokémon from the Lumiose Pokédex (001 to 232) as well as those from the Extra Dex (001 to 132). However, the restriction on Legendary Pokémon limits the presence of these powerful units.
-
Only one special Pokémon allowed per team from among: Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Mewtwo, Kyogre, Groudon or Rayquaza.
-
Pokémon levels are automatically adjusted to 50 during battles.
-
It is strictly forbidden to give the same held item to multiple Pokémon on the same team.
End-of-season reward structure
The reward hierarchy is designed to recognize players’ investment throughout the season. Beyond the gains earned in each battle or each time you rank up, end-of-season rewards are distributed according to the final rank reached, including valuable items such as Gold Bottle Caps and Mastery Seeds.
To receive rewards at the end of Season 11, you must have played at least one match (regardless of the outcome) during the season.
What this means for participants
Taking part in Ranked Battles requires a simple step through the game’s “Online Play” menu. It is important to note that access to end-of-season rewards is conditional on playing at least one official match. Season 11 is a pivotal moment for players looking to enrich their inventory while testing the viability of their current strategies against an ever-evolving metagame.
