Lumiose City is teeming with colorful characters: a group of friends living in a run-down hotel, a company redeveloping the city, rival clans fighting for the top of the Z-A Royale, and a few returnees from Pokémon X and Y. Here is who’s who.
The heroes
At the start you choose your character’s appearance; the game offers two heroes, Paxton and Harmony. Your choice determines your partner: Taunie if you play Paxton, Urbain if you play Harmony. Clothes are then fully customizable in the city’s shops.

Team MZRudiEnergetic dancer of Team MZ, specialist in Water- and Ice-type Pokémon.

Quasartico Inc. and Lumiose City
The company in charge of redeveloping the city organizes the Z-A Royale. Around it revolve a detective, a repentant scientist and the manager of Hotel Z.

🙈 Who is L? (spoiler)
L is none other than Lysandre, the former leader of Team Flare in Pokémon X and Y, who disappeared after the firing of the ultimate weapon. He reappears in Lumiose City with Zygarde, to put the hero to the test.

🙈 The family ties (spoiler)
Jett, the president of Quasartico, is the grandmother of Urbain/Taunie, whom she recognized by their jacket. Narica is the granddaughter of Taragon, the boss of Bâti-Racines. Albia is Nivis’s little sister. As for A.Z., the manager of Hotel Z, he is the former king of Kalos from Pokémon X and Y, creator of the ultimate weapon… and of the Angel.
