Did you skip Pokémon Legends: Z-A when it came out, or were you waiting for a complete edition before jumping in? It’s on its way. The Pokémon Company and Nintendo announced on September 30 a physical bundle combining Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and its additional content Mega Dimension. It will be released on Thursday, October 29, 2026, including in Europe.

The game and its expansion on a single card

The idea is simple: a single game card containing both the main adventure in its Nintendo Switch 2-optimized version and the additional story of Mega Dimension. No need to buy the DLC separately. Those who already own the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition obviously have no reason to pay again: they just need to buy Mega Dimension, which is still sold separately on the Nintendo eShop.

Good to know for players who haven’t upgraded their console yet: the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition remains playable on the original Nintendo Switch, but without the enhancements specific to the new machine.

100 Ultra Balls as a bonus

Every copy of the bundle will come with a serial code granting 100 Ultra Balls, to be claimed through the game’s Mystery Gift feature. A few conditions to know:

  • Release: Thursday, October 29, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2 (playable on Nintendo Switch)
  • Contents: Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension on the same game card
  • Bonus: a code for 100 Ultra Balls, usable once only, with no announced deadline
  • To use it: an Internet connection and a Nintendo Account (a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not required)
  • The Mystery Gift menu only unlocks after about an hour of play
  • Price: $99.99 in the United States; the European price has not yet been announced

Mega Dimension, a second adventure in Lumiose City

Released on December 10, 2025, Mega Dimension extends the story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A around the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa. Spatial distortions appear in the city and lead Team MZ to Hyperspace Lumiose, a warped version of the city. The expansion also adds new Mega Evolutions, including Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, the two faces of the Electric mouse on the cover art.

Japan and South Korea will get an equivalent bundle on the same date for Pokémon Pokopia, with the game and its Expansion Pass. No European release has been announced for it to date.

Key takeaways

A year after the game’s release, this bundle is the easiest way to discover Lumiose City, its Mega Evolutions and Hoopa’s story all at once. See you on October 29, just weeks before Christmas. We will update this article as soon as the European price is known.
