Incubators are about to heat up on Saturday, October 17:
Sandile will be the star of a Hatch Day in Pokémon GO. For six hours, the little desert croc will hatch much more often from 2 km Eggs, and its chances of being shiny will be boosted.
Six hours of hatching on the schedule
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., local time. So if you play in France, you can enjoy it from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Paris time. On the bonus side, Scopely has planned plenty to keep the counters ticking:
- Sandile will appear much more often in 2 km Eggs
- Increased chances of hatching a shiny Sandile
- Double Candy from hatching
- Hatch distance halved
- 2 km Eggs more common when spinning PokéStop Photo Discs
Please note: these bonuses do not stack with those from other events or GO Passes.

Free or paid Special Research
A free Special Research will be offered to all players, with an Incubator and XP as rewards. Those who want to go further can buy a ticket for $1.99 USD (or the equivalent in euros, with the exact amount shown in the in-game shop). It unlocks a dedicated Special Research and a very useful bonus:
- Hatch distance divided by four (instead of two)
- Tasks involving earning Stardust and walking 1 km
- Rewards: a Star Piece, two Super Incubators and other surprises
Both Special Research stories must be completed before Saturday, October 17 at 5 p.m. local time, or the rewards will be lost. Ticket availability may vary by region.
Preparing for the day
To get the most out of the hatching, it is best to arrive with free Egg slots: emptying your stock before 11 a.m. lets you collect more 2 km Eggs during the event. The Candy you earn will be used to evolve Sandile into
Krokorok (25 Candy), then into
Krookodile (100 Candy), which are Ground and Dark types.

Key takeaways
Join us on Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., for a Hatch Day entirely devoted to Sandile: reduced hatch distance, double Candy and increased shiny chances. The paid ticket is not essential, but it will help those who plan to walk a lot that day.
