Niantic has revealed the star of November’s Community Day in Pokémon GO: on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM (local time), Pawniard will be everywhere. It will appear more often in the wild, and the luckiest trainers may come across its shiny form or a specimen with a Special Background.

The real draw, however, lies at the end of the line. A Bisharp that evolves during the event, or within the four hours after it, becomes a Kingambit that knows the exclusive Charged Attack Kowtow Cleave. And for the occasion, this notoriously demanding evolution becomes much easier to pull off.

Kowtow Cleave and an easier evolution until 9 PM

Kowtow Cleave is a Dark-type attack with a power of 75 in Trainer Battles and 85 in Gyms and Raids. To get it, you need to evolve Bisharp between 2 PM and 9 PM, local time.

Normally, Bisharp can only become Kingambit after defeating 15 Dark- or Steel-type Raid Bosses with Bisharp as your buddy. On Saturday, November 21, until 9 PM, that requirement is reduced to a single Dark- or Steel-type Raid Boss. One well-chosen raid in the evening is therefore enough to add a Kingambit with its exclusive attack to your team. Remember to keep enough Candy in reserve.

All the bonuses of the day

As with every Community Day, a series of bonuses comes with the event. Most are active from 2 PM to 5 PM, and some last until 9 PM:

  • Hatch distance divided by 4 for Eggs placed in an Incubator
  • Double Candy for every catch and double the chance of getting XL Candy (from level 31)
  • 3-hour Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense)
  • 1-hour Lure Modules; from 2 PM to 9 PM, regular Lure Modules attract more Pawniard
  • One extra Special Trade, for a maximum of two that day
  • Half-price Trades in Stardust
  • Themed Field Research tasks that reward Stardust, Ultra Balls and Pawniard encounters

The Special Research and the online store box

A paid Special Research ticket will be available for US$1.99, or the equivalent price tier in euros. It has no storyline and no medal, but it contains:

  • three encounters with Pawniard that have a Special Background;
  • additional Pawniard encounters;
  • one Premium Battle Pass and one Rare Candy XL.

The ticket can be gifted to a friend who is Great Friends or higher, as long as they don’t already have one. Tickets are non-refundable. The Pokémon GO web store will also offer a Pawniard Community Day Ultra Ticket Box at the same price, which bundles the ticket with five Ultra Balls.
