New forms and regional Pokémon
Since Sun and Moon, every generation has also brought regional forms: known Pokémon that change appearance and type to adapt to their region, like Alolan Vulpix or Paldean Wooper. No such form has been shown yet for Winds and Waves. Find those of previous generations on our regional forms page.
How many new Pokémon will there be in Winds and Waves?
It has not been announced yet. Three are official for now, the starters. The latest generations added between 72 and 120.
What will Browt's number be?
It has not been assigned yet. The National Pokédex currently ends at No. 1025; the new Pokémon should start at No. 1026.
Are Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu new Pokémon?
The Pokémon Company presents them as Pikachu with a new look. We do not yet know whether they are forms of Pikachu or Pokémon in their own right.
