Two Pikachu on vacation
Mr. Windychu wears a light blue wide-brimmed sun hat decorated with a flower, sunglasses with purple lenses and a short-sleeved white shirt covered in blue and purple flowers. He waves with one paw, mouth wide open: the full tourist outfit.
Ms. Wavychu wears a blue dress printed with large pink flowers, a blue cap decorated with a golden motif and a pink flower, and a blue bow tied on her tail. She strikes a pose with a little smirk.
Their outfits match the tropical setting of the Winds and Waves islands, and their colors echo those of the logos: the light blue and white of the wind, the deep blue and pink of the waves.

The “Mr.” and “Ms.” in the English names make Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu a duo, a mister and a missus.
A long history of dressed-up Pikachu
This is not the first time the mascot has changed outfits in a main game. Cosplay Pikachu, in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, put on five costumes; Sun and Moon handed out Pikachu wearing caps, including Ash’s cap from the different seasons of the anime; Sword and Shield gave Pikachu a Gigantamax form. Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu follow in this tradition, with one major difference: they have their own names.
