Back at the Fall City Base
Back at the base, you receive your third Ranger Rank… very good!
But something awful is happening in the sewers. You’re given a new mission: investigate the sewers and solve this stench problem.
Third Mission: The Grimer Pollution
These sewers are a real maze, but if you follow the logic of the place and go from room to room, you shouldn’t have any trouble.
Start by capturing the Grimer as you go from area to area. As soon as you meet a Raticate, capture it immediately.
Go back with the Rat Pokémon, then cut through the barbed-wire gate so you can move forward.
Keep going through this area until you find a Tangela, and finally cross the river using Tangela’s ability. Don’t forget to clear out all the Grimer in the area each time you come across them. There are more and more of them, and if you get stuck you can use your Minun Poké Assist to get out of that dead end.
At the very end of the sewers, the boss is waiting for you: a Muk surrounded by little Grimer.
The technique to beat it is quite simple: divide and conquer. You’ll use this technique all the time in the game.
First, capture the easiest Pokémon, that is, the Grimer, to weaken Muk’s protection.
Then, once it’s completely alone, catch it in one go, using Minun if needed, since its energy bar has probably gone back up from capturing the Grimer.
You have nothing left to do in these sewers after this mission, which was simple but long.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
