The Pokémon Trainer

The Trainer, Red or Leaf as you prefer, returns from Brawl. He fights with three Pokémon, which he swaps using the down special move, Pokémon Change. His Final Smash, Triple Finish, brings all three together.

Quirks

  • Pikachu can be chosen as male, female or as Pikachu Libre. In Classic Mode, it only faces Pokémon, then Mewtwo.
  • Pichu hurts itself with its Electric-type attacks; its Agility goes further than Pikachu’s Quick Attack, but deals no damage.
  • Mewtwo, in Classic Mode, teams up with the opponent it has just beaten, a nod to mind control.
  • Incineroar is the slowest fighter in the game, but one of the most powerful at throwing, and the only Pokémon to mix wrestling with moves.
