This is a real earthquake in the world of bricks and pocket monsters! The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International have just officially unveiled a new wave of five particularly ambitious LEGO® Pokémon™ sets.

The big revolution of this announcement? The introduction, for the very first time ever, of genuine LEGO minifigures of Pokémon Trainers (such as Red or Professor Oak) alongside figures of iconic Pokémon like Pikachu and Eevee.

Here is everything you need to know about these upcoming boxes, which already look set to become must-have collector’s items.

LEGO Pokémon minifigures: a dream come true

LEGO Pokémon Rayquaza set with Zinnia

While the Pokémon licence has long been turned into construction bricks by other brands, the arrival of the LEGO Pokémon range marks a historic milestone. Fans had been asking for decades to see Trainers and Pokémon in the standard LEGO minifigure format. It is now a reality.

This new collection offers a variety of experiences, ranging from the posable figure of a Legendary Pokémon to a giant Poké Ball containing memorable dioramas from the Kanto region.
