Two days, eight or nine hours of event time each day and hundreds of Pokémon up for grabs: the big Pokémon GO global weekends need to be prepared like a small expedition. Ticket or not, Remote Raid Passes, Safari Balls, Mighty Pokémon, Special Trades… Here is the PF method for making the most of every minute, ahead of the Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global on November 14 and 15, 2026 and for every edition that follows.

This guide focuses on what comes back from one edition to the next. The full schedule for the November weekend (featured Pokémon, Raids, Dynamax Battles) is detailed in our dedicated article on Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global.

Three big global events every year

The Pokémon GO year revolves around three highlights: the Pokémon GO Tour in late winter, Pokémon GO Fest in summer and the Pokémon GO Wild Area in autumn. After in-person editions in a handful of cities, each one ends with a global weekend open to everyone, wherever you are, with times given in local time.

Free or ticket: what the ticket really changes

First rule: the base event is free. Featured Pokémon, Raids, spawn rotations and some of the bonuses are open to everyone. At Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global, everyone will get up to three free Raid Passes per day from Gyms and a Max Particles collection cap raised to 1,600.

The ticket adds exclusive content, which changes with each edition. For the November Pokémon GO Wild Area ($11.99 USD or the equivalent in local currency), it includes:

  • a branching Special Research story (Steel or Dragon);
  • a better chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon, with no guarantee of finding one;
  • up to six free Raid Passes per day and a Max Particles cap raised to 3,200;
  • double catch Candy, Incense that lasts twice as long and two-hour Lure Modules;
  • up to six Special Trades per day, at half the Stardust cost;
  • Supply Balloons filled with Safari Balls.

Don’t generalize: at the Kalos Tour, all six Special Trades were available to everyone, and the ticket mainly unlocked a Special Research story leading to Xerneas or Yveltal, a Masterwork Research with a Shiny Diancie and a Timed Research about Furfrou. Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, for its part, was free, with a paid Deluxe GO Pass as an option. Read the “Ticket holder exclusives” section of the official page before buying.

The PF verdict: if you play most of both days and are going after Shinies and the Special Research, the ticket pays for itself quickly. For an hour or two of play, the free version is enough.

Gifting a ticket to a friend

The ticket can be bought in the in-game shop or on the Pokémon GO Web Store. To gift it, tap the event artwork in the in-game shop, then the Gift button, and choose the recipient. Official conditions:

  • your friend must have reached at least the Great Friend friendship level with you;
  • they must not already own this ticket or have already received it as a gift;
  • a gifted ticket cannot be refunded or canceled;
  • you cannot gift more than 20 paid tickets per day.

To level up your friendships in time, our guide Buddies, Friends and Trading details the friendship levels.

The day before: get your bag ready

A global weekend is won as early as Friday evening:

  • Pokémon storage: transfer duplicates to free up several hundred slots.
  • Bag: make room for the Poké Balls, Berries, Passes and Eggs you will pick up during the event.
  • Berries: keep Razz Berries (catch rate multiplied by 1.5) and Golden Razz Berries for tough catches, and Pinap Berries, which double the Candy from a catch.
  • Incense and Lure Modules: regular Incense attracts event Pokémon, but Daily Adventure Incense does not. The Pokémon GO Wild Area ticket also doubles their duration.
  • Lucky Egg and Star Piece: for intensive Raid or catching sessions.
  • Max Particles: collect them every day from the Nearby menu, a requirement for taking advantage of the exploration bonus.
  • Battery: bring a charged power bank and a cable, because eight hours of play will drain a smartphone well before the end.

Mighty Pokémon and Safari Balls

The stars of the Pokémon GO Wild Area, Mighty Pokémon are exceptional specimens: they are more likely to have high Attack, Defense and HP stats and to be XL or XXL in size, but they are also harder to catch. Extremely rare, they appear in the wild, via Incense or along Routes.

To catch them, the event provides the Safari Ball, a highly effective Poké Ball, obtained by spinning the Photo Discs of PokéStops and Gyms during the event. Two rules:

  • it can only be used between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (local time) on event days;
  • it disappears from your inventory after the event: use it up until the very last hour.

Ticket holders also come across one Supply Balloon per hour to restock. In November, they will also be able to attract Mighty Latias and Latios with Incense. Niantic warns that this duo flees quickly.

Raids, Max Battles and Remote Raids

In November, the headline Bosses will be Dynamax Dialga on Saturday, Dynamax Palkia on Sunday and Gigantamax Duraludon on both days in Max Battles, as well as Kyurem (White Kyurem and Black Kyurem) in five-star Raids. To build your teams, our guide to Raids and Dynamax Battles details type weaknesses.

The Remote Raid limit

The Remote Raid Pass lets you join a Raid visible on your map or answer a friend’s invitation, wherever they are. The number of Remote Raids is capped: the limit was raised to 10 per day in May 2025, and Niantic often increases it for big events. It went up to 20 during the January 2026 Shadow Raid Day featuring Raikou, to 30 during the Mega Ascension event in late August 2026, and was even removed altogether on the weekend of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale. Check the list of bonuses for each event.

Max Battles: with others, in person or remotely

Max Battles are started from Power Spots and consume Max Particles. Since May 2025, they can also be joined remotely with a Remote Raid Pass, as long as you have the necessary Max Particles. Up to four Trainers fight together in a standard Dynamax Battle; Gigantamax Bosses require larger groups. Set a meeting time with your local group or organize your invitations among friends in advance.

Special Trades, Candy and Research

Normally, Special Trades (Legendary, Shiny or Pokémon not yet in your Pokédex) are limited to one per day. Global weekends often lift that cap: up to six per day, at half the Stardust cost, from midnight to 11:59 p.m. (local time). Since trading takes place in proximity, the evening is ideal for meeting up with friends and swapping the day’s Shinies.

As for Candy, combine the ticket’s catch bonuses, Pinap Berries and bulk transfers: our guide Candy, Stardust, CP and IVs explains how to invest them afterwards.

Finally, keep an eye on Research. Themed Field Research tasks show up more often during the event. Timed Researches have a deadline (before 6 p.m. on Sunday for the Furfrou one at the Kalos Tour), whereas some Masterwork Researches never expire, like the Shiny Diancie one. For the hunt, see our feature Shiny Hunting.

A typical day plan

Each edition splits its days into themed time slots: alternating Steel and Dragon hours at Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026, three habitats (combined from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at the Kalos Tour, six three-hour blocks covering all 18 types at Fest 2026: Global. Note them down, then plan your day around them:

TimeGoal
Before 10 a.m.Max Particles, Gifts, sorting your storage, first Special Trades if the bonus starts at midnight
10 a.m. – 12 p.m.PokéStops in a row (Safari Balls, Field Research), first Incense while walking
NoonGroup Raids and Max Battles with the free Passes
AfternoonPriority themed slots, Lure Module during your break, second Incense
Final hourLast Safari Balls, Timed Researches to wrap up
EveningSpecial Trades until 11:59 p.m., evolutions and sorting

If you are used to Community Days, you will recognize the same logic, stretched over two days: give yourself some breaks.

Key takeaways

A global event is won the day before: free space, items ready, group organized. The ticket is never mandatory and its content changes with each edition. Safari Balls should be spent until the last minute, Special Trades saved for the evening, and the Remote Raid limit checked every time. See you on November 14 and 15 in the Pokémon GO Wild Area, then in February 2027 for the Alola Tour.
