Since January 2018, Community Day has set the rhythm of every month for trainers of Pokémon GO. For three hours, a featured Pokémon appears everywhere, bonuses rain down and, above all, its evolution learns an exclusive move that is impossible to get any other way at that time. On October 10, 2026,
Zorua was the 97th featured Pokémon of a monthly Community Day.
But who remembers that
Pikachu kicked things off with Surf ? Which move did you have to get on
Tyranitar, and can you still get it today? To answer these questions, we compiled the complete list of Community Days from 2018 to October 2026, cross-checked against the official announcements, along with the Classics, the December recaps and the ways to catch up on a missed move.
How a Community Day works

The format has evolved over the years, but the recipe stays the same. Here is how a Community Day works in 2026, based on the official announcement for the Zorua edition:
- Hours: from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time, everywhere in the world.
- Spawns: the featured Pokémon appears en masse in the wild, with an increased chance of encountering it as a shiny.
- Exclusive move: evolve the featured Pokémon during the event or within the four hours that follow so that its evolution learns the move of the day.
- Bonuses: ×2 Candy for catching, doubled chances of XL Candy from level 31, a main bonus that changes by edition (×3 XP for catching for Zorua), longer Incense and Lure Modules.
- Trades: one extra Special Trade and Stardust cost halved, until 9 p.m.
- Paid Special Research: a US$1.99 ticket (or the equivalent in euros) gives access to an additional story and rewards.
Hours have often changed. The first editions in 2018 were played in fixed regional time slots, then local time took over in March 2019. During the pandemic, from April 2020 to March 2022, the event lasted six hours, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Since September 2022, the 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. slot has been the rule. The evolution window has varied too: none at first, one hour from October 2018, two hours from September 2019, five hours in 2022, until the end of the following week in 2025, and four hours since October 2025.
Every Community Day, from 2018 to 2026
The tables below list every monthly Community Day and every Classic (flagged with the “Classic” label), with the exclusive move obtained and the Pokémon that learns it. Dates are those of the event in France. We use the current spelling of moves in the main games: the app has sometimes written certain names differently (Frenzy Plant, Dragon Breath, Aqua Tail…).

In total, from January 2018 to October 2026, Pokémon GO has hosted 97 monthly Community Days, 19 Classics and 8 December recap weekends. A little statistic along the way: all 27 starters from the nine generations have had their Community Day, and their signature moves, Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn and Hydro Cannon, have each been handed out nine times.
The Classics and the December recaps
Since January 2022, the Community Day Classics bring back a former featured Pokémon, with its exclusive move, for an afternoon. They are flagged in the tables above: Bulbasaur kicked off the format on January 22, 2022, and Gible was the most recent on September 12, 2026. For the 2026 Classics, evolving remains possible until 9 p.m. on the same day.
Every December, a recap weekend brings together the year’s featured Pokémon and lets you pick up their moves. The Special Research ticket for these weekends went from US$1 (from 2020 to 2023) to US$4.99 in 2024 and 2025.

| November 30 to December 2, 2018 | The 2018 featured Pokémon | All of those from 2018 |
| December 14 and 15, 2019 | 2019 featured Pokémon in the wild, 2018 ones in raids and Eggs | 2018 and 2019 |
| December 12 and 13, 2020 | 2020 featured Pokémon in the wild, 2019 ones in raids and Eggs | 2019 and 2020 |
| December 18 and 19, 2021 | 2021 featured Pokémon, spread over the two days | 2020 and 2021 |

Catching up on a missed Community Day move
Missed an edition? Don’t panic: most exclusive moves can be obtained later. There are three solutions.
- Elite TMs: the Elite Charged TM and the Elite Fast TM let you teach an exclusive move to a Pokémon that is eligible for it, including most Community Day moves. They are mostly obtained as rewards from research, events or the GO Battle League.
- Classics: if the featured Pokémon returns during a Classic, simply evolve a Pokémon during the event.
- December recaps: they give access again to the year’s moves, and often to the previous year’s.
Beware of two exceptions. A Shadow Pokémon that evolves during Community Day does not learn the exclusive move. And an Elite TM cannot replace Frustration on a Shadow Pokémon, except during dedicated Team GO Rocket events. Our guides on how to level up your Pokémon and on getting started in Pokémon GO detail the other resources to plan for.
The exclusive moves not to miss
Not all Community Day moves are equal. The community’s reference rankings, notably those from GO Hub and PvPoke, regularly cite the same names among the most worthwhile Elite TMs. These rankings date from 2022 and the meta evolves, but these moves remain safe bets:
- Meteor Mash for Metagross: a benchmark in raids and the Master League.
- Hydro Cannon for Swampert: a pillar of the Great League and the Ultra League.
- Frenzy Plant for Venusaur: useful in PvP as well as in raids, especially with Mega Evolution.
- Blast Burn for Charizard: essential in raids; Dragon Breath suits it better in PvP.
- Powder Snow and Icicle Spear for Walrein: two moves that make it a heavyweight of the Great League.
- Last Resort for Umbreon: a classic of the Great and Ultra Leagues.
- Outrage for Salamence and Earth Power for Garchomp: two major weapons in raids.
- Rock Wrecker for Rhyperior: one of the best Rock-type attackers in raids.
More recently, Glaive Rush for Baxcalibur, handed out in June 2026, was hailed by GO Hub as one of the best Community Day moves for raids. To dig deeper, our guide on getting started in the GO Battle League and the one on raids and Dynamax battles will help you choose your priorities.
Getting ready for the next Community Day
The next Community Day is already dated: Saturday, November 21, 2026, according to the official account of Pokémon GO. The featured Pokémon has not been revealed yet.
A few reflexes to get the most out of it:
- Make room in your Pokémon and item storage the day before, so you don’t have to sort things out during the event.
- Keep your Candy of the featured Pokémon: you will need it to evolve several Pokémon within the four-hour window.
- Schedule your trades with your friends between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., when Stardust costs half as much.
- Check the move after each evolution, and do not transfer your best specimens before confirming it.
- Watch the official announcements: the main bonus, the length of the evolution window and the price of the Special Research change from one edition to the next.
Key takeaways
- 124 events since 2018: 97 monthly Community Days, 19 Classics and 8 December recaps.
- The exclusive move is obtained by evolving the featured Pokémon during the event or within the four hours that follow.
- A missed move can most often be caught up with an Elite TM, a Classic or the December recap.
- The 27 starters from the nine generations have all had their Community Day.
- Next event on Saturday, November 21, 2026, featured Pokémon still secret.
We will update this table after each new edition. Happy hunting, everyone!
