What changes compared with Pokémon Yellow
Let’s Go follows the storyline of Pokémon Yellow, of which it is a remake: a Pikachu (or Eevee) partner that refuses its Poké Ball, Team Rocket and its agents Jessie and James, the Celadon City Rocket Hideout and the Saffron City Silph Co. Several mechanics change:
- No battles against wild Pokémon: you catch them by throwing Balls, as in Pokémon GO. Pokémon are visible on the map.
- Secret Techniques replace HMs: Chop Down, Sky Dash, Sea Skim, Rock Smash and Light Up the Darkness are performed by the partner.
- Gym entry requirements: a Grass or Water Pokémon for Brock, a level 15 Pokémon for Misty, fifty Pokémon registered in the Pokédex for Koga.
- The GO Park in Fuchsia City replaces the Safari Zone and receives Pokémon from Pokémon GO.
Our Gym Leaders and Elite Four article details each battle, and the After the League page takes over once the Champion is beaten.
