Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! bring together the legendaries of Kanto, Mewtwo and the birds, as well as three Mythical Pokémon that cannot be obtained in-game: Mew, Meltan and Melmetal. Here is how to obtain each of them.

Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres in Let’s Go.

A two-step catch

Since you do not battle ordinary wild Pokémon in Let’s Go, the legendaries are an exception: you first have to defeat them in battle, in five minutes at most, before you can throw Balls. The catch can then take many throws. Always save beforehand: each one can be Shiny and has at least three perfect IVs.

  • Articuno is the hardest to reach: you have to play with the water level in the Seafoam Islands maze. It can freeze your Pokémon.
  • Zapdos is found at the very back of the Power Plant, overrun with wild Pokémon, just before the hidden exit to the west. Its moves can paralyze.
  • Moltres, on a mandatory path, is often the first one caught.
  • Mewtwo activates a barrier that at times prevents the use of Berries and Balls; catching it triggers the battle against Green.

The details of their moves are in our guide Catching the legendary birds, Mewtwo and Mew.

The Mythical Pokémon

Mega Evolutions

Despite the return to the first generation, Mega Evolution is present. After the seventh Badge, Blue waits for you at the Pallet Town lab and gives you the Key Stone as well as four Mega Stones: Venusaurite, Charizardite X, Charizardite Y and Blastoisinite. The others are found or bought over the course of the adventure; our article Mega Stones and Mega Evolutions gives their locations. Mewtwo has two Mega Evolutions, X and Y.
