It is official: the Pokémon Happy Meal is coming back to McDonald’s, and France is among the very first countries to get it. The chain unveiled a promotion this Thursday, October 29, that can be summed up in one sentence: 3 boxes, 15 toys and 2 TCG cards with each collectible. The meal will arrive in French restaurants in November 2026, the year of the 30th anniversary of Pikachu and its companions.

What the Pokémon Happy Meal contains

This time, the toys take the form of mini Happy Meal boxes featuring Pokémon, with 15 designs to collect. Each one comes with two cards from the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The meal itself comes in three different boxes, including one in Pikachu’s colors, with its ears and its wink. As usual, the offer is limited to one toy per Happy Meal, at participating restaurants while supplies last.

On the official artwork, you can make out the following mini boxes in particular:

As for the cards, you can spot, among others, Pikachu, Palafin, Mimikyu, Chandelure and Tyranitar. McDonald’s has not yet published the full list of cards or toys: we will add it as soon as it appears.

When in France?

Watch out for the date shown on the artwork: “11.10” is in U.S. format and corresponds to November 10, 2026, the launch day in the United States. For France, McDonald’s currently only says November 2026, with no specific day. Different dates had been circulating in recent weeks: only the official announcement counts, and we will update this article as soon as McDonald’s France sets the big day.

  • November 2026: France, Spain, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji;
  • December 2026: around forty countries, including Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Morocco and Mauritius;
  • January 2027: Italy, most of Latin America, Israel, the Philippines and Thailand;
  • February 2027: the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Key takeaways

French collectors will get a head start over most of their European neighbors, Belgium and Switzerland included, who will have to wait until December. With two cards per toy and 15 toys to collect, the promotion is likely to be in high demand: it is best to check with your restaurant as soon as it launches. To protect and showcase these upcoming promo cards, our guide to protecting your collection properly remains good advice.
