Like every new Pokémon game, Champions rebalances some of the moves. Some gain power or accuracy, others change type or see their secondary effect chances drop. Here are the changes we have noted compared with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

What to remember

Power

Signature moves buffed

Meteor Assault (170), Beak Blast (120), Mountain Gale (120) and Psyshield Bash (90) gain significantly in power, often with fewer PP in return.

Chance

Fewer random effects

Iron Head now only causes flinching one time in five, Moonblast lowers Sp. Atk one time in ten, and Dire Claw inflicts a status condition less often.

Type

Type changes

Growth becomes Grass type and Snap Trap becomes Steel type: enough to surprise your opponent and benefit from new bonuses.
