Beyond Ranked Battles, Pokémon Champions runs online competitions over a few days, with registration, rankings and free Pokémon. And since 2026, the official Pokémon video game Championships circuit is played on Champions.

Online competitions

Competitions are launched from the competitions menu. You first need to register during the registration period, then save your team in your Battle Box. Battles then take place over a few days, usually four: each win earns points, each loss costs you points.

A disconnection during a battle counts as a loss: play with a stable connection.

Champions, the official Championships game

Starting in 2026, the video game Championships are held on Pokémon Champions at the Pokémon World Championships and the events leading up to them. The 2026 World Championships, in San Francisco, were its first showcase, with a dedicated arena for the final and special distributions for spectators.

The official website specifies that some regions may still use Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for their Championships.

Getting ready for a competition

  1. Register early: the registration period closes before the battles begin.
  2. Check your team: your Pokémon must be allowed under the regulation in force.
  3. Practice in Double Ranked Battles the week before, to refine your sequences.
  4. Plan some time: battles are concentrated over a few days.
