Pokémon France followed Explorers of Sky from its Japanese announcement in January 2009, to its European release in November of that year, then its re-release on Wii U in 2016. This page presents and links our archives.
The announcement and the Japanese release (2009)
In January 2009, we announce Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Sky, then its Japanese release date. Next come the official website, a first video, the new stalls, a website update, more videos and a Japanese demo.
In April, the game comes to life in video, then in magazines. On its release in Japan, it tops the sales charts and stays there the following week.
Arriving in the West
In June 2009, the game is given a US release date. Our review comes out in October, with a score of 15 out of 20. In November, the European demo and new images precede the 20 November release: two Pokémon games come out that day.
The Wii U re-release (2016)
On 18 August 2016, Explorers of Sky arrives on the Wii U Virtual Console, at the same time as Pokémon Snap.
