To play a Pokémon in UNITE, you need its Unite License. The game uses several currencies to get them, as well as items and outfits. Here is what each one is for and how to earn them without paying.
Unite Licenses
Licenses are obtained at the Unite Battle Committee. According to Poképédia, they used to cost 6,000 to 15,000 Aeos coins, or 345, 460 or 575 Aeos Gems depending on the Pokémon. Temporary licenses of 1, 3 or 7 days are also handed out during events.
Each week, a selection of Pokémon is playable for free in Standard and Quick Battles, without a license. It doesn’t apply to Ranked Battles.
In-game currencies
| Currency | How to get it | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| License points (formerly Aeos coins) | Battles, missions, events | Unite Licenses |
| Aeos Gems | Bought in the shop (paid currency) | Licenses, Holowear, clothing, premium Battle Pass, event accelerations |
| Aeos Tickets | Missions, Battle Pass, Sportsmanship, end of Ranked season | Held items, Item Enhancers, clothing, boosts |
| Fashion Tickets | Energy rewards, duplicate clothing | Trainer clothing |
| Holowear Tickets | Energy rewards, end of Battle Pass | Holowear at Zirco Trade |
| Aeos energy | Every match | Energy rewards (100 points per draw) |
Energy rewards
Every match earns bonus Aeos energy. Every 100 points, you can open an energy reward: items, Item Enhancers, clothing, Holowear or Emblems. According to Serebii, accumulated energy is capped each week, hence the value of playing regularly rather than in a single session.Spending wisely
- Licenses for Pokémon in different roles first: you need at least five for Ranked Battles.
- Versatile held items next, with your Aeos Tickets.
- Item Enhancers to upgrade your best items.
- Clothing and Holowear last: they have no effect in battle.
