Mega Evolution arrived in Pokémon UNITE with Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y, then spread to other Pokémon. Unlike the main games, it isn’t permanent: the Pokémon Mega Evolves for a limited time, and can do so again later in the match.

How it works

  1. The Pokémon holds its Mega Stone: an exclusive held item, unlocked automatically with its Unite License.
  2. The condition is met during the match, depending on the Pokémon.
  3. The Pokémon Mega Evolves for a limited time: its stats increase and some moves are strengthened.
  4. It returns to its normal form, then can Mega Evolve again when the condition is met once more.
