In Pokémon UNITE, the best team isn’t always the one with the best players, but the one that makes the right decisions at the right time. Here are the habits that make the difference, from the first minute to the final legendary.
The start of the match
- Spread out across the lanes: usually two players on top, two on the bottom, and one in the center to collect experience from wild Pokémon.
- Don’t steal experience from an ally who needs it to evolve, especially if they play a Pokémon that depends on its evolution.
- Defend the first wild Pokémon in your lane: leaving them to the opponent means handing them a level lead.
Scoring smartly
Safety
Little by little
Scoring small amounts often limits the risk of losing everything by being interrupted.
Window
After a won fight
When several opponents are knocked out, it’s the time to score together: nobody can interrupt you.
Tools
With an item
Goal Getter speeds up scoring and Score Shield protects you while you score.
Objectives
Powerful wild Pokémon that appear at set times give advantages to the whole team. Before they appear:- Group up near the objective about twenty seconds before it appears.
- Save your Unite Move for the fight that is coming.
- Equip Fluffy Tail on a Pokémon in charge of “stealing” the objective at the last moment.
The last minutes
The endgame decides most matches. Stay grouped, don’t go score alone, and keep an eye on the score: a team that is behind will take risks, so take advantage of it to punish them. The most common mistakes
| Mistake | Why it's bad | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Scoring with 50 points in front of an opponent | A single attack interrupts the goal and you risk a KO | Score earlier, or wait for an ally |
| Chasing an opponent too far | You leave your lane and fall into a trap | Head back toward your zone after a KO |
| Ignoring the minimap | Invisible opponents are preparing an ambush | Glance at it regularly |
| Using your Unite Move too early | It won’t be ready for the decisive fight | Save it for objectives |
