Legendary Pokémon are at the heart of Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. The Johto beasts, the Kanto birds, Latios and Latias, Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Regigigas and Lugia all cross the hero’s path. And thanks to Ranger Signs, symbols drawn on the ground, you can then call some of them to carry you or lend a hand. Here is how it works.
Ranger Signs
A Ranger Sign is a symbol you draw on the touch screen with the Capture Styler. An interface icon lets you draw it at any time, except in caves and buildings. Depending on the sign, a Pokémon comes to help you, carries you, or lets you battle it again. If you forget what a sign looks like, the game menu reminds you.
The legendary signs

Latios or Latias, depending on your hero’s gender, only shows up once beacons have been activated at several points in Oblivia, including Dolce Island, the Faldera Volcano and an underwater cave. It then challenges you in the air.
