The third and final part of our Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs walkthrough: the title of Hero of Oblivia, the Oblivia Ruins and the true leader of the Pokémon Pinchers, Stormy Island and Zapdos, then the Flying Fortress, Ho-Oh and the final battle against Mewtwo.
The Hero of Oblivia
Back in Cocona Village, you are named Hero of Oblivia for defeating the two leaders of the Pokémon Pinchers, and you are sent to fetch the Rainbow Cup. But at Rand’s place, there is bad news: Leanne and Nema have been kidnapped by the Pokémon Pinchers.
The Oblivia Ruins
You follow them to Argencienne Falls, on Sophian Island, where the Oblivia Ruins are hidden, guarded by henchmen wearing the ancient armor of the Armor Guardians. In the final chamber, you find Leanne and Nema and come face to face with Purple Eye, the true leader of the Pokémon Pinchers. His plan: to awaken an ancient Flying Fortress and sow chaos.
Stormy Island and Zapdos
- The storm: Purple Eye is on Stormy Island, where Zapdos, the last legendary bird, rests. A violent storm stops your Staraptor from flying there.
- Latios or Latias: only the legendary Pokémon can fly in this weather. You have to find out how to summon it and befriend it: Latios or Latias, depending on your hero’s gender.
- Mount Stormy: at the summit, Purple Eye tries to awaken Zapdos. Defeated, he gives up, but a mysterious figure riding a flying craft awakens Zapdos, which flees into the skies of Oblivia.
The Tea Party and the Flying Fortress
Your Capture Styler detects a strange flying object in the Oblivia Ruins. Once you arrive, the truth comes out: the Tea Party, the group of four ancient thieves you met in Balnéaria, is the supreme authority of the Pokémon Pinchers. They are looking for the Armor Guardians’ Golden Armor to become invincible. The Flying Fortress rises from the lake surrounding the Ruins, and Edward makes Dolce Island disappear with a plasma ray. The three legendary birds, under his control, protect the Fortress with a barrier.
The Rainbow Cup and Ho-Oh
According to the Legends of Oblivia, the Rainbow Cup must be raised on the Rainbow Altar in the Western Sea. Once the Cup is placed, Ho-Oh appears and frees Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos from the Tea Party’s grip. The Flying Fortress becomes accessible.
The final assault
- Take on the members of the Tea Party one by one, each in a wing of the Fortress: Cheron, Hocus and Froufrou.
- In the final chamber, Edward, the group’s mastermind, summons Mewtwo: you have to calm it down.
- Purple Eye returns, eliminates the other members of the Tea Party, puts on the Golden Armor and sets Mewtwo against Edward, who disappears in turn.
- Defeated a second time, Mewtwo is freed; the Golden Armor shatters, its pieces scattered across Oblivia.
- The Fortress threatens to crash, but Ho-Oh steps in and sets it down gently on the water.
