My Town is the customization menu of Pokkén Tournament DX. Here you check your stats and replays, dress up your avatar, choose your title, and set up your Pokémon and your advisor, Nia. Here is what you can do there.
What My Town contains
| Menu | Content |
|---|---|
| Battle History | Stats for your solo and online battles, details of your last online battle and access to replays |
| Profile | The name displayed online, the avatar’s appearance, and the title and comment shown at the start of online battles |
| Pokémon Settings | The distribution of each fighter’s skill points |
| Advisor Settings | The Ferrum League Cheer Skill, Nia’s outfit and how often she speaks up |
| Options | Controls and sound |
The avatar
New in the DX version, the avatar is fully customizable: hairstyle, clothes, accessories and backgrounds. Items are bought with Poké Gold, earned in the Ferrum League, or obtained through mission cards, the Battle Pass, amiibo and certain special codes distributed in 2017.
Titles
Your title is displayed next to your name before each online battle. There are a great many of them: rewards from mission cards, random bonuses, rankings in official group matches, amiibo or the Battle Pass. The Green League mission cards, for example, earn titles like “Budding Trainer” or “Toward New Challenges”.
Skill levels
Each fighter gains experience in battle and goes up in skill level. Each level earns points to distribute among four areas: attack, defense, synergy and strategy (the recharge of Support Pokémon). Skill levels can be turned off in Event Mode, so that tournaments are played on equal terms.
Nia and her Cheer Skills
Nia, your advisor, accompanies you throughout the adventure; she battles with a Weavile. Between rounds, she activates the Cheer Skill you have chosen. In solo or online battles, you choose it before the battle; in the Ferrum League, you have to set it in advance in My Town. In the DX version, all six skills are available from the start.
| Skill | From round | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Steady | 2 | After a win, the gauge of the unused Support is filled; after a loss, the gauges of both Supports are filled and synergy increases. |
| Synergy Special | Every round | The Synergy Gauge increases every round, whatever the result. |
| Deadlock | 3 | Large increase to the Synergy Gauge in the third round. |
| Support Special | 2 | The Support Gauge is filled every round. |
| Special | 2 | After a win, a little synergy; after a loss, the Support Gauge is filled. |
| Whimsical | Every round | A random effect every round. |
Nia can also wear several outfits, including new ones with the Battle Pass. Our article Nia and her cheers gives the unlock conditions for the Wii U version.
