Pokkén Tournament DX is a fighting game released on 22 September 2017 on Nintendo Switch. An enhanced version of Pokkén Tournament, which came out in Japanese arcades in 2015 and then on Wii U in 2016, it is developed by Bandai Namco, the team behind Tekken, with The Pokémon Company. Twenty-three fighters, eighteen Support Pokémon sets, battles that alternate between Field Phase and Duel Phase, Mega Evolutions during Synergy Burst: it is the most technical fighting game in the Pokémon universe.

It can still be played on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, solo, with two players on one console, or online.

Why play it

Pokkén Tournament DX pulls off a difficult feat: a serious fighting game, loved by fans of the genre and featured in the Pokémon Championships, that stays accessible to Pokémon fans thanks to its attack triangle and simple controls. The DX version fixes the shortcomings of the Wii U: every fighter available from the start, Team Battle and real local multiplayer on Switch.
