Pokkén Tournament DX brings together twenty-three fighters: the sixteen from the Wii U version, four from the Japanese arcade version, Decidueye, a brand-new addition, and two fighters added by the Battle Pass, Aegislash and Blastoise. All of them are available from the start, with no unlocking. This page presents them by category, with their hit points and a link to our detailed article on each one, written when the game came out.
The twenty-three fighters
The category describes the fighting style; HP is the fighter’s value at the base skill level; the Mega Evolution, when there is one, is triggered with Synergy Burst.

The categories
Standard
Balanced fighters with no marked weakness. Lucario, Pikachu and Blaziken are good starting points for learning the game. Mewtwo and Suicune have the most HP in the category (630, like Empoleon). Decidueye, the only brand-new fighter in the DX version, comes from Pokémon Sun and Moon and has plenty of ranged attacks.
Power
Slow but devastating. Machamp and Garchomp have the highest HP in the game, 660. Chandelure is the exception in the category with 510 HP and several ranged attacks. Scizor, which came over from the arcade, Mega Evolves during Synergy Burst.
Speed
Fast, elusive, but fragile. Weavile and Croagunk have only 540 HP; Sceptile and Pikachu Libre rely on mobility and feints.
Technique
The most demanding fighters, who control distance and trap their opponent. Shadow Mewtwo has the lowest HP in the game (480) but considerable power; Darkrai also relies on ranged attacks; Gardevoir and Gengar excel at range.
Choosing your fighter
- To get started, a Standard fighter lets you learn all the mechanics: phases, attack triangle, Synergy.
- Try them all in the Action Dojo of Training mode, which presents each fighter’s techniques.
- Stay loyal to one or two fighters: they gain skill levels over the course of your battles.
What’s new in the DX version is detailed on the New DX Fighters page. Our original article Playable Pokémon also lists the fighters.
