Pokkén Tournament DX supports all Nintendo Switch controllers, plus one controller designed especially for it. It is also compatible with amiibo and received special codes in 2017. Here is everything you need to know.

When the game starts, the main controller is the one you leave the title screen with. Our 2017 news had announced it: the Pokkén Tournament controller will be compatible with the Switch.

amiibo

Scanning an amiibo earns a random bonus: Poké Gold (from 100 to 100,000), a special title or a customization item (scarves, Santa hats, masks, cat ears, seasonal backgrounds…). Some titles and items can only be obtained this way. The Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, released with the Wii U version, let you unlock Shadow Mewtwo earlier; in the DX version, it is available from the start.

Special codes

The Special Code menu, on the map, let you enter codes distributed in 2017: T-shirts for the Pokémon, an old leather jacket, a hamburger hat, a training outfit, or, via Twitch Prime in December 2017, a bell and a Christmas wreath and a “Happy Holidays” title. Each code could only be used once per save file. These distributions have ended.
