Crafting is one of the pillars of Pokémon Legends: Arceus: in the Hisui region, there is no Pokémon Center or shop on every corner, and most useful items are made yourself. Poké Balls, potions, bait, battle aids: everything is put together from materials gathered in the wild. This page explains the basics, lists the game’s 43 recipes with their ingredients, tells you how to get each recipe, and shows where to gather the materials. Our older pages Crafting: the Poké Balls you can make and Crafting: the items you can make yourself gave a summary; this one replaces and expands on them.
How it works
To craft an item, you must first own its recipe. Recipes come from the story, from your rank in the Survey Corps, from requests, or from the Jubilife Village Workshop, which sells them. Once you have a recipe, you craft the item at a workbench: there is one in your quarters, at the Workshop and in every camp. At a workbench, all your items are available, both those in your satchel and those in your storage box, and the crafted item is sent to storage if the satchel is full. The Crafting Kit lets you craft anywhere, but only with the contents of the satchel, and you need room for the new item.
Gathering materials
Send your Pokémon next to a tree, an ore deposit or a patch of grass: it knocks items loose, gains a bit of experience and builds up friendship. Each area and each type of deposit has its own item table. If the tree or deposit shakes, a wild Pokémon will come out of it; if it sparkles, you get one of its rarest items.
| Source | Items obtained |
|---|---|
| Apricorn trees | Apricorns (sometimes a Gnawed Apricorn) |
| Berry trees | Oran Berry (sometimes a Sitrus Berry), Cheri, Rawst, Leppa, Razz, Nanab, Pinap, Bluk, Aspear, Pecha or Chesto Berry, depending on the tree |
| Red deposits | Tumblestones, sometimes an Iron Chunk, Stardust or an evolution stone (most often a Fire Stone) |
| Black deposits | Black Tumblestones, sometimes an Iron Chunk, Stardust or an evolution stone (most often a Thunder Stone) |
| Blue deposits | Sky Tumblestones, sometimes an Iron Chunk, Stardust or an evolution stone (most often a Water Stone) |
| Snow piles | Snowball, Mud Ball, Ice Stone (Alabaster Icelands) |
Poké Balls
Balls are unlocked with your Survey Corps rank (see the Pokédex and research tasks). They come in three families:
- Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball: the classic Balls, increasingly effective.
- Heavy Ball, Leaden Ball, Gigaton Ball: heavy Balls that neither fly high nor far, but are very effective when you hit a Pokémon that hasn’t noticed you.
- Feather Ball, Wing Ball, Jet Ball: fast, accurate Balls, ideal for agile Pokémon or ones that fly high.

Bait and miscellaneous items
Bait is thrown to distract a Pokémon or lure it in; the Smoke Bomb and the Scatter Bang are for escaping; the Stealth Spray makes it easier to sneak up.

Tips
- Rank up regularly: each star unlocks a more effective Ball or healing item, and it’s the easiest way to improve your catch rates.
- For Alpha Pokémon, try the Heavy Ball or the Feather Ball depending on the species; see the Alpha Pokémon.
- Craft your healing items before an expedition: the basic ingredients (Medicinal Leek, Vivichoke, Pep-Up Plant) can be found in the wild.
- Check the side requests for the recipes that only certain requests unlock.
