A month after the game’s release, Pokémon Legends: Arceus received a major free update: Daybreak (version 1.1.0), published in late February 2022. It adds 28 requests, No. 95 to No. 122, Massive Mass Outbreaks, new battle challenges and the Lone Path. This page explains how to access it and what each request contains. The Massive Mass Outbreaks
Requests 96 to 101 send you to investigate a Massive Mass Outbreak in each of the five areas. A Massive Mass Outbreak brings together several mass outbreaks of different species in the same area, sometimes with a second wave made up of evolutions or Alpha Pokémon. Once discovered, they can then occur regularly: it is one of the best sources of shiny Pokémon in the game. Details and rates in mass outbreaks and shiny Pokémon.
Daybreak in Hisui and the Origin Formes
Request 102, which gives the update its name, concludes the arc opened by Ryza: Adaman and Irida take you to watch the sunrise in the Obsidian Fieldlands. Requests 106 and 107 then let you battle Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia at the request of the clan leaders. See the legendary and mythical Pokémon.
The battle challenges
- Request 103, “An Idea Worth Digging Into”: Cogita asks you to calm a Pokémon in the Oreburrow Tunnel.
- Request 104, “The Security Corps’ Secret Weapon”: Belilla offers you the chance to face the Security Corps’ secret weapon. Our article on Belilla’s dojo presents the place.
- Request 105, “Extreme Balloon Popper”: the organizer of the Balloon Popper game in the Coronet Highlands challenges you to a harder version, with a special reward at stake.
The Lone Path
Requests 108 to 122, given by Gaeric of the Security Corps, form the Lone Path: a series of fifteen battles in which a single assigned Pokémon, from Bidoof to Kricketot, must win by making the best use of its abilities. Each request gives a tip, for example choosing the right Forme of Wormadam or the right appliance for Rotom. Our complete 2022 guide details the fifteen battles: The Lone Path.
The Dream Challenge and the Heroic Path
The update also adds two battle modes outside of requests: the Dream Challenge, a series of fights against the game’s characters, and the Heroic Path. They are covered in the post-credits challenges; our 2022 guide also details the Heroic Path.
What else changes
The update also brought quality-of-life tweaks and fixed bugs; version 1.1.1, released afterwards, notably restored the Shiny Charm in cases where obtaining it failed. The full version history is in the technical sheet.
