In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, money goes fast: Poké Balls and healing items at the Trading Post, crafting recipes, clothing, satchel upgrades, items from the Ginkgo Guild. Since Trainer battles are rare, you need other sources of income. Here is how to earn Poké Dollars efficiently and what to spend them on first.
Earning money
1. Craft and resell Star Pieces
This is the most profitable method. A Star Piece is crafted with 3 Red Shards, 3 Blue Shards, 3 Green Shards and 1 Stardust, and sells for 5,000 Poké Dollars at the Trading Post. Shards are plentiful during space-time distortions, and the recipe is bought from the craftsman in Jubilife Village. Details in crafting.
2. Sell treasures
Distortions, rides on Ursaluna and exploration in general turn up items that are only good for selling. Don’t keep these treasures in your satchel: sell them as soon as you get back to the village.
3. Complete requests
Many requests in Jubilife Village reward you with money or sellable items. They also unlock new items at the Trading Post, which saves time later. The most useful ones are in the requests you shouldn’t miss.
4. Return lost items
The Lost Items forum lets you find satchels lost by other online players and return them in exchange for Merit Points, which can be traded for items. See the Lost Items forum.
Our 2022 article details three quick methods: the 3 effective methods for making money fast.
Spending wisely
| Expense | Where | Our advice |
|---|---|---|
| Poké Balls, Potions, bait | The Jubilife Village Trading Post | Buy at the start; craft as soon as possible to save money. The Trading Post |
| Satchel upgrade | Galaxy Expedition Team headquarters | Top priority: 37 extra slots, at increasing prices. Upgrading the satchel |
| Crafting recipes | The craftsman in Jubilife Village | The Star Piece recipe pays for itself quickly |
| Rare items, Rotom devices | The Ginkgo Guild | The stock changes regularly: stop by often. The Ginkgo Guild |
| Clothing and hairstyles | The textile and hairstyling shop | For fun, once everything else is sorted. The textile shop |
Trading Post prices
A few benchmarks to budget your outings (prices in Poké Dollars, from our survey of the Jubilife Village Trading Post; other items unlock through requests):
| Item | Price | Item | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Poké Ball | 100 | Potion | 200 |
| Great Ball | 300 | Super Potion | 400 |
| Ultra Ball | 600 | Hyper Potion | 800 |
| Heavy Ball | 120 | Max Potion | 2,000 |
| Leaden Ball | 320 | Full Heal | 600 |
| Feather Ball | 140 | Revive | 700 |
| Wing Ball | 340 | Max Revive | 3,000 |
Compare that with reselling a single Star Piece: 5,000 Poké Dollars, or fifty Poké Balls.
The orchard and free resources
The orchard in Jubilife Village lets you grow Berries and other resources, which reduces what you have to buy for ingredients. Our guide: the orchard. Berries and materials gathered while exploring are also used for crafting; there’s no need to buy them if you get into the habit of picking everything up.
